Cascade funding open calls

Cascade funding open calls

Developing innovative projects can be very difficult for some start-ups and SMEs. The European Commission, aware of the barriers that smaller companies may encounter, has developed a funding distribution mechanism, called Cascade Funding.

Cascade funding is a simpler, public funding opportunity designed to facilitate greater capillarity of funds. The budgets of these funds are lower than other types of aids, and the application process is more agile in the sense that it does not require any type of prior guarantee or collateral, the evaluation times are shorter, as well as the bureaucratic and administrative management itself and the subsequent justification for receiving the funding is simplified, since in most cases it is based on work performance.

Cascade funding is aimed at start-ups and SMEs in the digital sector (industry 4.0, big data, etc.), and is being extended to blockchain and energy-saving technologies.
