Calls for the LIFE Programme 2023 are here!

CINEA has already published the different calls for the LIFE Programme 2023, which this year has a budget of 611 million euros

Projects that seek to improve the environment and climate in the European Union have their best patron in the LIFE Programme, which has just published the different calls for proposals for 2023. This year’s calls have a budget of 611 million euros, more than the previous year (598 million euros).

The LIFE Programme is the European Union’s only financial instrument dedicated exclusively to climate and environmental action, and is structured through the European Climate, Infrastructure and Environment Executive Agency (CINEA).

The calls for proposals for the LIFE Programme 2023 have already been published on the EU Funding & Tenders portal, including the different closing dates, so you have enough time to prepare your proposal with guarantees.

The different actions of the LIFE Programme 2023

We present below the budget that the different lines of action of the LIFE Programme 2023 will receive:

– Standard Action Projects (SAPs): nature and biodiversity. 141 million euros.

– Standard Action Projects (SAPs): circular economy and quality of life. 91 million euros.

– Standard Action Projects (SAPs): climate change mitigation and adaptation. 66 million euros.

– Strategic Integrated Projects (SIPs): climate and environment. 83 million euros.

– Operating grants for specific non-profit entities that have signed a Framework Partnership Agreement. 14 million euros.

– Replication of technical assistance. 6.5 million euros.

– Projects to address ad hoc legislative and policy priorities (LTPs). 15 million euros.

Key dates for the LIFE Programme 2023 call for proposals

We also leave you the key dates that you can not miss to submit your project on time and qualify for funding:

  • Standard Action Projects (SAP) for the Circular Economy and Quality of Life, Nature and Biodiversity Sub-programmes. Deadline 6 September.
  • Standard Action Projects (SAP) for the Climate Change Mitigation and Adaptation Sub-programmes. Closing date 21 September.         
  • LIFE Clean Energy Transition Action Sub-programme. Closure 16 November.
  • Strategic Integrated Projects (SIPs and SNPs).

· Concept notes: 5 September.

· Full proposals: 5 March 2024.

  • Technical Assistance Replication. Closing date 27 July.
  • Preparation of Technical Assistance for SIPs and SNAP. Closing date 7 September.
  • Operating grants for non-profit entities (SGA OG), by invitation only to LIFE FPA signatories. Closing date 21 September.
  • LIFE Preparatory Projects, addressing ad hoc Legislative and Policy Priorities. Closes on 7 September.
