Interreg Europe ya forma parte de Kaila

The INTERREG programme aims to improve cohesion policy through the exchange of experiences, the transfer of good practices and joint initiatives between EU Member States, as well as Norway and Switzerland, on thematic objectives (such as innovation, SMEs, low carbon economy and environmental protection).

Interreg Europe targets local and regional institutions, public administrations, regional development agencies and educational institutions, to create networks and exchange experiences on different topics, thus generating regional best practices at a European level. Its projects focus on four themes:

• Research, technological development and innovation.
• Competitiveness of SMEs
• Low-carbon economy
• Environment and resource efficiency

For the period 2021-2027, a committee has been set up, which consists of delegates from decision-making Member states and an observer from the European Commission, as well as the managing authority, the joint secretariat of the programme and external experts to help draft the new programme, which will be launched in January 2022.
