Horizon 2020 Programme

Horizon 2020 was the European programme for research and innovation funding in the period 2014-2020 with a budget of €80 billion.

The highlight in terms of added value for the European Union were its benefits in terms of scale, speed and focus when supporting European research. In addition, it had a significant impact on the creation of transnational and multidisciplinary networks, generating sufficient critical mass to manage global challenges, thus enhancing the attractiveness of Europe as a place to do research.
