Horizon Europe Programme

Horizon Europe Programme is the spearhead of the European Commission to boost research and innovation with a budget of 95.5 billion euros.

Horizon Europe is born as one of the most ambitious programs to date and articulates its funding around three strategic axes: scientific and technological excellence; green and digital transition and the fight against climate change; boosting innovation capacity, entrepreneurship and competitiveness in Europe.

Each timeframe brings its novelties and on this occasion, Horizon Europe firstly, consolidates the relevant role of the European Innovation Council and its strategy focused on shortening the distance between the idea and the market for breakthrough ideas through its pathfinder, transition and accelerator funding instruments. It also launches its missions, which are transdisciplinary actions with tangible and immediate impact on society with a strong focus on climate change, cancer, oceans, smart cities, and soil and food health. It simplifies and streamlines both the vision and the approach to the different European partnerships and intensively promotes international cooperation and open science.
