What is Cascade Funding?

Cascade Funding is a form of public funding support, designed for start-ups and small businesses .

Funding, providing the money necessary to run or develop a company’s activities, is one of the biggest challenges faced by European start-ups and SMEs, which represent 99% of the EU’s business fabric. For smaller businesses, public funding instruments play a key role. 

Cascade Funding consists of simplified public funding, designed for small businesses. This type of funding is a European Commission mechanism that distributes public funds to support start-ups, SMEs or mid-cap companies, mainly through the development of digital innovation.

Mateo also highlights the importance of smaller businesses participating in specific events. “This provides start-ups and SMEs with greater visibility within the entrepreneurial ecosystem, helps them to get in touch with investors, accelerators and large technology companies that may be interested in acquiring their technology or collaborating in new projects together.”
